     NCCP Science Club Jan-March 26

Would you like to be a part of Cambridge Science Centre’s Idea Investigators? Test our new lab activities, workshops and shows and let us know your thoughts and ideas!

Science Club resumes in 2026 and you get to be part of our content development team as our Idea Investigators! You will get an exclusive first look at brand new sessions we are creating and try our exciting labs, shows and workshops before anyone else gets to!

Plus, your thoughts and opinions will be passed to our content development team, where changes based on your feedback can then be written in.

Our Idea Investigators team is suitable for ages 7-11, and we are very excited to have you be part of the Cambridge Science Centre team!

Science Club will take place every Wednesday between 4:20-5:20pm and is at Cambridge Science Centre (The Trinity Centre, Cambridge Science Park, Milton Road, Cambridge, CB4 0FN). There are bike stands and car parking available on site. Young people can be signed up for the club here: https://forms.gle/VrAZo8QyFGo2x4ps7

We are now booking in term blocks, so this upcoming block runs from 14th January - 25th March 2026. Please note, there will be no session on the 18th February (due to the half term holiday).

We are also able to offer a complementary minibus/taxi to provide return transport from Campkin Road Community Centre to the Science Centre for those that need help accessing our location. Spaces for this are provided on a first come first served basis, so please only sign up for this if it is needed. You can find the transport registration here: https://forms.gle/DjgYMi29PbgnFQwu9

If you enjoy repairing, tinkering, teaching, or just being part of a positive community atmosphere, we’d love your help. We’re looking for volunteers in areas such as:

    • Repairing small appliances, electronics, bikes, or furniture

    • Sewing, mending, or textile repairs

    • Tool handling or general fixing

    • Event setup, welcoming visitors, and coordination

You don’t need to be an expert — enthusiasm and a willingness to help are just as important. Volunteering is a great way to share skills, meet new people, and support sustainability in our community. contact talk@nccp.org.uk.

    10.30am to 12.30Botanic Gardens

    New Creative writing workshop

Don't miss this opportunity for to join a workshop in the Garden to hone your creative writing skills.

Launching this spring, Seasonal Garden Poetics is a new creative writing workshop series in the Botanic Garden that invites participants to explore the changing seasons through poetry, prose, and attentive observation. Each session begins with a quiet walk in the garden, gathering colours, textures, scents and sensory details, before moving indoors for guided readings, discussion and creative exercises.

This supportive and welcoming session, led by award-winning writer Caroline Druitt, is open to all ability levels. The spring workshop, on Saturday 14 March 10:30-12:30, stands alone but also introduces a year-long journey through the seasons, focusing on themes of emergence, renewal and our relationship with place. Participants are welcome to join for spring only or return for future sessions across summer, autumn and winter. These are provisionally booked for 10:30-12:30 on Saturday 13 June and 19 September.
