NCCP is delighted to have partnered with 'A Toys Life and Beyond CIC' to deliver this new and exciting project called 'Little Rainbows Toy Library'
Little Rainbows Toy Library is different, for although it runs like a typical toy library, children are also encouraged to develop their language and communication skills. This is what we call a 'toy library with a twist'.
The format of Little Rainbows Toy Library is that parents/carers and children come every week where they get to talk, do different activities and play. They will also have a book read to them every week and parents/carers get to borrow toys related to the book, together with a question sheet and tips. All these are designed to encourage their children's communication and language skills at home. And this is what makes this toy library very different from others.
All is free to join/ drop in/ free lunch every Tuesday: 10:00 to 12pm at Nun’s Way Pavilion, Nuns Way CB4 2RN.

Coding Club!
We are working in partnership with Cambridge City Council, Red Hen Project and the Raspberry Pi Foundation, offering local children a chance to learn computer programming. With the help of brilliant volunteers, children can now attend the CoderDojo every Tuesday!
Children will gain an understanding of commuter programming languages and anyone from seven to seventeen can visit a Dojo where they can learn to code, build a website, create an app or a game, and explore technology in an informal, creative and social environment.
New laptops have been provided by Cambridge City Council for use at the CoderDojo, so all can join in and learn this important new skill and have fun too.
"Encouraging children to have aspirations and a sense of the possible is so important to their wellbeing and crucial for their future life prospects" Sarah Crick (Red Hen Project)

"Encouraging children to have aspirations and a sense of the possible is so important to their wellbeing and crucial for their future life prospects" Sarah Crick (Red Hen Project) -

It's time to show off your Lego skills and create experiments with the Community Lego Lab!
We have a theme each week and there is no end to our innovations!
The club takes place every Thursday from 4pm to 5pm at the Nun's Way Pavilion and all children from 5 to 11 are welcome! All we ask is for a 50p donation to help us subsidise costs.
Also if you have any spare Lego to donate, or have some extra time to help us run more sessions please do get in touch. Additionally if you have any toys for 3 to 5 year olds to donate to our toddlers club, we would be very thankful.
Please bring donations to 37 Lawrence Way, the NCCP community house next to Tesco or when you come to either group. If you would rather we pick up, email Talk@NCCP.org.uk -

Wed23Apr2025Wed21May20254.20P TO 5.20PMTrinity Centre, Cambridge Science Park CB4 0FN

Acience Club resumes on Wednesday 23rd April! Across these five sessions we will be exploring our survival skills and thinking how we can use science to help cope with a new disease. This is known as HAVOC, and has infected millions of people, making them develop strange behaviours, including a tendency to be a little bit bitey!
A small band of elite scientists, codenamed STEMClub, i.e. your young people, will be the group who have survived the initial apocalypse and escaped to a secret laboratory in the woods outside Cambridge. Unfortunately the lab has not been used for a while, and they had to escape quickly, so there are not as many essential provisions in the hide-out as they might want. Can your young people work together to complete challenges to demonstrate resilience, creativity and scientific skills to help others survive the apocalypse?
These sessions are aimed at ages 7-11.
Science Club will take place every Wednesday between 4:20-5:20pm from 23rd April - 21st May, and is at Cambridge Science Centre (The Trinity Centre, Cambridge Science Park, Milton Road, Cambridge, CB4 0FN). There are bike stands and car parking available on site. You can sign your young people up for the club here: https://forms.gle/5NwThK1fqHGbahYCA
We are also able to offer a complementary minibus to provide return transport from Campkin Road Community Centre to the Science Centre for those that need help accessing our location. Spaces for this are provided on a first come first served basis, so please only sign up for this if it is needed. You can found the minibus registration here: https://forms.gle/snZNrpVCCkMgfvYt5

Free pizza!
Oct 26th
The Youth club has been running for 5 weeks and we have fallen into a routine.
Pizza first
Then guitar classes for those who want them. There are about 5 or 6 regular participants.
Painting and craft activities are also very popular. Last week's sock puppets led to some hilarious improvisation. Games, chat and music led by our lively volunteers guarantee a fun filled evening.
We have taken a break for half term.
See you next week, for more music, fun and crafts.
